OVERVIEW

The purpose of the Kansas State Alliance of YMCAs is to represent the collective voice and impact of all 10 independent Kansas YMCA Associations; foster statewide communication and cooperation; and inspire, nurture and strengthen communities by advancing youth development, healthy living and social responsibility through advocacy, programming and collaboration. We know when we speak with one voice we can move individuals, communities and our entire state forward. We are a grassroots driven and governed organization that advocates on behalf of the YMCA and its mission. The Kansas YMCAs serve over 550,000 people in 27 communities across the Sunflower State. As public charities, Kansas Ys engage 1 in 4 Kansas children and teens and provide a wide range of activities to nurture their potential and ensure their success. With over 7,000 volunteers accumulating 195,527 hours of service and over 3,500 employees, the Y is making a difference in all of the Kansas communities it serves. With a focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, the Kansas State Alliance of YMCAs serves all YMCA branches in the state by advocating on their behalf and providing a multitude of programs across the state. Together the YMCAs in Kansas are creating a healthy and positive state for our future generations.
